Srinagar: Considering the high consumption and public importance of bakery and bakery products, the Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), J&K, conducted a special enforcement-cum-sampling drive focusing on bakery and bakery products, along with milk and milk products, to ensure their quality and compliance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. As part of the drive, food safety inspections and sampling were carried out across the districts of Srinagar, Kupwara, Budgam, Bandipora, Shopian, Kulgam, Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Reasi, and Udhampur. Srinagar: The Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), J&K, conducted a focused UT-wide special enforcement drive on milk and milk products with a view to ensuring the quality and safety of milk being sold to consumers across Jammu & Kashmir. During the drive, Food Safety teams conducted 213 inspections of retail milk vendors across various districts and lifted 170 enforcement samples of loose milk for testing of prescribed quality and safety parameters through NABL-accredited Food Testing Laboratories. Srinagar: The FDA, J&K conducted inspections and sampling across the Union Territory to check compliance with food safety requirements. During the drive, 148 food business establishments were inspected and 75 enforcement samples were lifted. These included Paneer (05), Spices (14), Milk (14), Edible Oil (13), Ghee (02), Prepared Food (05), Ready-to-Serve Beverages (09), Cereal Products (07), Sugar (04) and Sauces (02). In addition, 24 surveillance samples of nutritional items were lifted from ICDS Centers.Further, 06 Improvement Notices were issued to Food Business Operators (FBOs) for deviations from hygiene and sanitary requirements.
