Handwara, April 20 : In its ongoing efforts to combat illegal timber smuggling, Handwara Police acted on specific intelligence and conducted raids at two locations in the Darashpora area of Handwara. KUPWARA, 19th April : Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking in the district Kupwara Police achieved a significant success today by arresting a drug peddler and recovering a substantial quantity of contraband from his possession. At around 1700 hrs a routine naka/checkpoint was established by police personnel at Thayan Gugran road under the jurisdiction of Police post Kalaroos. In the aftermath of a devastating hailstorm and incessant rainfall that struck various parts of Kupwara, DDC Chairman Irfan Sultan Pandithpori has raised serious concern over the extensive damage caused to fruit crops, vegetables, and residential areas.
