Kupwara, 03 September 2026: The Shumali Kashmir Homestay Conclave 2026 was conducted today at Roshan Mustaqbil, Kupwara, bringing together the District Administration, homestay owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, hospitality experts and representatives of the hotel industry to strengthen community-led tourism in North Kashmir.
The Conclave adopted a practical, hands-on approach, with interactive sessions on hospitality standards, guest experience, branding, digital marketing, pricing, promotion and sustainable tourism.
Successful homestay owners and tourism entrepreneurs shared their journeys, best practices, innovative ideas and lessons learnt, offering participants practical insights into running and promoting homestays. Representatives from the hotel industry highlighted evolving guest expectations and opportunities for collaboration.
An interactive Question & Answer session enabled participants to discuss challenges and seek practical solutions.
The Conclave highlighted homestays as a powerful avenue for local entrepreneurship, employment and supplementary incomes, while enabling tourists to experience North Kashmir’s unique culture, cuisine, traditions and natural beauty.
