Kupwara, 03 September 2026: The Shumali Kashmir Homestay Conclave 2026 was successfully conducted today at Roshan Mustaqbil, Kupwara, bringing together the District Administration, existing homestay owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, hospitality experts and representatives of the hotel industry to strengthen the homestay ecosystem in North Kashmir.
The Conclave adopted a practical and interactive approach, with dedicated sessions on hospitality standards, guest experience, room presentation, branding, digital marketing, pricing, promotion and sustainable tourism practices.
A key highlight was the sharing of best practices and real-life experiences by successful homestay owners and tourism entrepreneurs. Participants shared their entrepreneurial journeys, innovative ideas, challenges and solutions, providing aspiring hosts with practical insights into establishing and managing successful homestays.
Representatives of the hotel industry highlighted evolving guest expectations, service standards and opportunities for greater collaboration between homestays and established hospitality enterprises.
Practical sessions and an interactive Question & Answer segment enabled participants to seek guidance and discuss operational challenges.
The Conclave highlighted homestays as an important avenue for local entrepreneurship, employment and livelihood generation, while offering tourists an authentic experience of North Kashmir’s culture, cuisine, traditions and natural beauty.
The initiative reaffirmed the shared commitment towards building a quality-driven, sustainable and community, owned tourism ecosystem across North Kashmir.
