Kupwara, 19 November 2024: In an important development Police Station Sogam apprehended one individual and seized charas-like substance during Naka checking at Lassipora Sogam.
The accused, identified as Nasrullah Malik, S/O Sanaullah Malik, R/O Cheerkote Lolab, was found in possession of approximately 24 grams of charas-like substance. The recovery was made during a routine vehicle and individual frisking at the checkpoint.
A Case FIR No. 56/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act in this regard stands registered at Police Station Sogam, and investigation is underway to uncover potential links to wider drug peddling network in the area.
Kupwara Police remains committed to combating drug peddling and protecting the community, especially the youth, from the devastating effects of drug abuse. The public is encouraged to assist Police by reporting any suspicious activity related to narcotics.
