Boniyar, August 15: Army Goodwill School (AGS), Boniyar, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by a vibrant and well-choreographed cultural programme presented by the students.
The event was chaired by the Commander, Pir Panjal Brigade, and witnessed enthusiastic participation by students, teachers and school staff.As part of its continued outreach to the local population, medical camps were organised in border villages, providing essential medical consultations and healthcare assistance to residents, particularly those living in remote areas.
The initiative reflected the Indian Army’s commitment towards the welfare and well-being of the local population and further strengthened mutual trust and goodwill between the Army and the community.On the solemn occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the Commander, Pir Panjal Brigade, laid a wreath at the Pir Panjal War Memorial and paid homage to the fallen heroes of the Indian Army.
The ceremony honoured their supreme sacrifice, courage and unwavering devotion to duty, while reminding all present of the sacrifices made in safeguarding the Nation.
The Independence Day celebrations also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between the Army and the local population.
The enthusiastic participation of villagers, youth, students and teachers, along with various community outreach initiatives, further strengthened mutual trust, goodwill and camaraderie.
The activities reaffirmed the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the Awam in the border areas and highlighted the Army’s continued commitment towards community welfare and nation-building.
