Statehood restoration democratic right of J&K people: CM Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani

Kupwara : Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani on Saturday reiterated that restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is a democratic right of its people, asserting that the mandate received through elections must be respected and honoured.

Addressing a gathering in Kupwara after hoisting the National Flag on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Wani said the restoration of statehood was not merely a political demand but an aspiration rooted in the democratic mandate of the people.

He said the elected government remains committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people and strengthening democratic institutions in Jammu and KashmirWani also underlined the importance of development, transparency and good governance, and said efforts would continue towards transforming Kupwara into a model district with improved public services and development infrastructure.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to serving people with dedication, the Advisor said the National Flag symbolises the country’s unity, democratic values and the collective aspirations of its citizens.

The Independence Day celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, with the gathering reflecting aspirations for peace, development, good governance and the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
