Kupwara, April 19, 2024: In a vigilant patrol operation conducted by the Kupwara Police, a significant breakthrough was achieved when a police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kupwara Police Station, intercepted two individuals carrying suspicious items in their bag at Tikker Kupwara.
The suspects, identified as Haris Sheikh, also known as Anda Kanoon, resident of Tikker Kupwara, and Javid Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Kanthpora Lolab, were apprehended on the spot. Upon an intricate inspection, copper utensils were discovered concealed within the bag.
Upon intense interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft of various commodities, alongside their accomplice Danish Ahmad Sheikh, from the Hajaj Market area of Kupwara. Acting on the information provided by the apprehended individuals, substantial recoveries, including electric batteries and bags of Nun Tea, were made from multiple locations.
In response to this criminal activity, a criminal case has been registered under FIR No. 87/2024 U/S 379 IPC at the Kupwara Police Station. Further investigations are underway, and additional recoveries are anticipated.
