Kupwara, April 10, 2025:In a significant development aimed at curbing drug menace Lalpora Police apprehended one individual during a routine patrol and recovered contraband substances from his possession.On April 9, 2025 at approximately 2300 hours a police party from Police Station Lalpora while on patrolling duty in the Bunpora area noticed a person behaving suspiciously. The individual was intercepted and identified as Fayaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Lolab. During his personal search a substantial amount of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.In this connection, FIR No. 19/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Lalpora and investigation has been initiated.Kupwara Police reaffirms its commitment to continue its drive against drug peddlers and seeks cooperation from the general public in sharing information related to drug-related activities.
