Kupwara, February 24, 2025: As part of its relentless efforts to combat the drug menace, Kupwara Police apprehended a suspect and recovered contraband during a routine Naka checking at Dever near Kariwan Park under Police Station Lalpora on February 23, 2025.At approximately 1850 hours, a police team conducting routine surveillance observed a suspicious individual in the area. Acting swiftly, the Naka party tactfully apprehended the suspect, later identified as Mir Aatirul, son of Sonaullah Mir, resident of Chotiwari Sogam.Upon conducting a personal search, the police recovered 10 grams of Charas-like contraband substance from his possession. Subsequently, a case under FIR No. 08/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Lalpora, and further investigation is underway.Kupwara Police reiterates its commitment of eradicating the drug menace and ensuring a safer,drug-free society.
