Kupwara: Indian army flags-off Sadbhavana Tour for 35 Local Students

Aimed to encourage the youth of border district Kupwara, at least 35 students including 20 girls and 15 boys were flagged off for the 8th international convention of SPICMACY to be held in Nagpur from 29 May to 4 June.

Kupwara, May 24: A Sadhbhavana Tour comprising of 35 Students (20 Girls & 15 Boys) from Kupwara region would be participating in 8th international convention SPICMACAY at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur scheduled from 29 May to 04 June 2023.

VNIT which is the venue for the convention was conferred with the status of Institute of National Importance’ in 2007. SPICMACAY is the acronym for ‘Society Tor the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth’.

It is a voluntary organisation created in 1977, founded by Padma Shri Kiran Sein with its headquarters based at Delhi, however it organizes various cultural events for National and International youth at various locations in India and abroad.

In the week-long convention the students will be provided with an inspired, enthused environment, wherein they will be interacting with great masters and award winning artists. The students will be exposed to various events like yoga, traditional Music, vocal instruments, various dance forms and many other cultural events.

The journey from Kupwara to Nagpur will be partly by road and partly by train. Students from villages of Kupwara region will get an opportunity to travel in Premier Rajdhani Express from Jammu to Nagpur and likewise during their return journey. These fully AC trains offer complimentary sumptuous meals and beverages which would add to the overall experience along with beautiful sightseeing.

All these aspects combined will broaden their thought, vision and understanding.”

The planning, execution and financing of the entire entourage is being undertaken by the Indian Army deployed in Kupwara which has been an important stakeholder in the development saga of the District.
