Kupwara : The spirit of patriotism soared high as the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (Kundian Coy ) successfully concluded Day 3 of the ongoing Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations at Government High School Kundian. This inspiring event was part of a three-day tribute to the heroes of Kargil, aimed at instilling national pride and awareness among the local youth.
Following the emotional screening of Shershaah on July 12 and a powerful poster-making competition on patriotism on July 13, the final day featured an enlightening lecture on “How to Join the Indian Army.”
The session sparked curiosity, motivation, and dreams among the attending students—many of whom expressed a deep desire to one day serve the nation.The program was graced by the Company Commander of Rashtriya Rifles, Kundian, and Subedar Major, who addressed the gathering with words of encouragement.
The Headmaster of the school served as the Guest of Honour, accompanied by teaching staff, parents, and community members.
A heartfelt moment came when a respected local parent, Choudhary Bashir, stood up to express his gratitude to the Indian Army. “Hum dil se salaam karte hain. Aaj hamare bacchon ke chehron par jo khushi hai, uska koi mol nahi,” he said, overwhelmed with emotion.Students like young Azhar also shared their happiness and pride, calling the experience “life-changing.”This three-day celebration not only paid homage to our brave soldiers but also ignited a wave of hope and ambition among the youth of Keran.
