Uri, October 2: Under the aegis of the Pir Panjal Brigade of the Dagger Division, Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at Government Middle School, Soni, in Uri, with enthusiastic participation from school students, teachers, village elders, youth and local residents.The programme featured a series of cultural activities and performances by school children, highlighting the life, values and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. The participants were sensitised to Gandhiji’s ideals of truth, non-violence, simplicity, cleanliness and communal harmony, and their continued relevance in promoting a peaceful and progressive society.During the event, Army personnel interacted with students and local residents and encouraged the younger generation to uphold the values of discipline, mutual respect, social responsibility and national unity. The interaction provided an opportunity for the Army and the local community to engage in an open and cordial atmosphere.The programme concluded on a positive note, further strengthening civil-military cooperation and community partnership in the area.
