Handwara, September 29:Handwara Police has organized a Women’s Cricket Tournament at DPL Ground, Handwara, with the objective of providing women cricket players from different schools a common platform to participate, compete and showcase their sporting talent.
As many as 06 women’s cricket teams from different schools are participating in the tournament. The matches are being played in the T-10 format on knock- out basis, with one match scheduled each day.
The tournament will continue for eight days, providing the participating teams an opportunity to compete in a healthy sporting environment and promote sportsmanship, teamwork and team spirit.
The participating teams include,Manarch Secondary School Handwara,Prime Institute Secondary School Kulangam, My New School Drugmulla,Elvis Garden Public School Handwara, Hill Grange Secondary School Handwara ,Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Handwara.
The tournament is being organized by Terrific Trio Trust, headquarters at Sopore ( NGO) and Monarch Secondary School Handwara in collaboration with Handwara Police who is also extending assistance in the conduct of the tournament at District Police Lines Kulangam Handwara.
The initiative reflects the efforts of Handwara Police to facilitate greater participation of women in sports and provide young girls with opportunities to develop and showcase their sporting talent in a positive and supportive environment.
Through such community-oriented initiatives, Handwara Police continues to encourage youth participation in sports and promote constructive engagement, teamwork and a healthy sporting culture among young people.
