FDA J&K Prohibits Manufacture and Sale of Milk Products Unit

Srinagar: The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), J&K, has prohibited the manufacture and sale of milk and milk products at a food business unit in Talangam Pulwama after an inspection found deficiencies in hygiene and sanitation.The inspection was conducted by the Food Safety Officer, Pampore. During the inspection, the premises of the unit operated by Suhail Maqbool S/o Mohammad Maqbool Sheergogri R/o Talangam, Pulwama, were found to be operating under insanitary conditions in violation of the hygiene and sanitary requirements prescribed under Schedule IV of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011Based on the inspection report, the Designated Officer, Food Safety, prohibited the manufacture and sale of milk and milk products from the premises in the interest of public health. The unit shall not resume operations until the required corrective measures are taken and compliance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder is ensured.Consumers are requested to report any case of unsafe, adulterated, or unhygienic food through the Toll-Free Helpline 104 or by email at cfsjandk.fnd@jk.gov.in.
