Chinar Corps Organises Veterinary Camp and Interaction with Bakarwal Community at Machhal

Kupwara , 07 Sep: Chinar Corps, Indian Army organised a Veterinary Camp and interaction with the Bakarwal community at Machhal, reaffirming its commitment towards the welfare and upliftment of nomadic population in the Valley.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation with over 350 locals and nearly 150 livestock. Veterinary doctors from the Army, supported by civil counterparts, carried out comprehensive medical check-up of livestock and provided free medicines to address common ailments and seasonal diseases.

Awareness sessions were also conducted, where Veterinary Experts educated the community on preventive animal healthcare, balanced nutrition, vaccination and modern rearing practices vital for sustaining their livelihood.

In addition to veterinary support, solar lights were distributed to families, addressing a key requirement in remote and electricity-deficient areas.

Freshly prepared meals wereserved to all attendees, adding warmth and inclusivity to the occasion.The initiative was warmly appreciated by the Bakarwal community, who expressed gratitude for the Army’s consistent outreach efforts. Elders highlighted that such initiatives instil confidence and provide much-needed support during migratory movements.

This event served as yet another milestone in strengthening civil-military relations, showcasing the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the well-being and development of the people of Kashmir.
