Strong Anti-Drug Crackdown Signals New Resolve in J&K: Dr Suneem Khan

Srinagar, April 11: In a powerful endorsement of the administration’s latest initiative, Dr. Suneem Khan on Saturday hailed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for launching the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, calling it a decisive step towards safeguarding the region’s future.

Dr. Khan described the move as “not just governance, but a declaration of love for a generation that was quietly being stolen,” referring to the growing menace of drug abuse among youth.

He praised the administration for taking stringent measures, including cancellation of passports, freezing of bank accounts, and seizure of properties belonging to those involved in drug trafficking.

“By putting the full weight of the state behind this campaign, the Lieutenant Governor has drawn a line that needed to be drawn years ago,” Dr. Khan said, adding that the initiative sends a strong message of zero tolerance against narcotics.

He further noted that the administration’s approach recognizes drug abuse not merely as a social issue, but as a direct assault on Kashmir’s identity, youth, and long-term future. “This crackdown will echo through generations,” he remarked, expressing confidence that the campaign would bring meaningful change.
Dr. Khan concluded by saluting the leadership and courage shown by the administration, emphasizing that such firm action is essential to reclaim and protect the region’s youth from the grip of addiction.
