Bandipora: As part of 7th Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, a plantation drive themed Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam led by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri was today held at mini Secretariat Bandipora. ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, ADC Zaffar Husson Shawal, DPO, supervisors and Aaaganwari Workers participated in the plantation drive.
DPO Poshan, Bandipora Yar Ali khan informed that plantation drive was held across the district to create awareness regarding climate change and its adverse effects. He said, more than 1000 plant splings were planted across the district including flowering, medicinal and ornamental plants.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad Qadri emphasised the significance of the plantation drive in combating climate change and enhancing environmental awareness.
He highlighted that the initiative not only contributes to improving the district’s green cover but also fosters a sense of collective responsibility towards preserving the environment.
