November 09: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Handwara have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
During a routine Naka checking at Audoora Bridge, a police party from Police Station Qalamabad apprehended a suspect identified as Mudasir Ahmad Dar, son of Ab Majeed, resident of Badkote Handwara. During his personal search 52 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
A case under FIR No. 50/2024, U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and an investigation has been launched. Handwara police reiterated their commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade in the region and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

General public are requested to cooperate with Police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
