Kupwara Police continues its unyielding efforts in the fight against drug abuse. Today on 16-11-2024, a Naka was established by Police Post Bazaar at Geerhatchi. During the checking, an individual identified as Ghulam Mohd Lone S/O Abdul Rehman Lone R/O Khumriyal, aged 37 years, was intercepted by the Naka party.
Upon a thorough search, three lathis of charas-like substance weighing approximately 71 grams were recovered from his possession.
The accused was immediately taken into custody, and the contraband was seized on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 266/2024 U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara, and further investigation has been initiated.
District Police Kupwara remains commited to curb the menace of drug abuse and ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens.
