Kupwara: A joint delegation of Pensioners and EJAC,led by Mir Fayaz,visited the residence of Fayaz Hameed,who was recently elected President of the Journalists Association Kupwara to extend heartfelt congratulations on his achievement and express their happiness over his election.
The delegation included Farooq Ahmad Khan,District President EJAC Kupwara,Haji Abdul Ahad Bhat,District President Pensioners,Bashir Ahmad Shah; Mohammad Afzal Malik;Fayaz Ahmad Ganai,Haji Gh Mohidin,Ajaz Ahmad shah,Gh Mohammad Mir and other distinguished members.On the occasion,the delegation stated that it was a matter of great pride for District Kupwara that its young journalists were earning recognition in the field of journalism through their professional competence,hard work,honesty, and integrity.
They said that Fayaz Hameed’s election to this important position was not only an honour for him personally but also a matter of pride for the entire district.
The delegation expressed hope that Fayaz Hameed would guide his fellow journalists in upholding the fundamental principles of journalism,including impartiality,integrity and a commitment to public service.
They observed that District Kupwara has a distinct identity for its talent,intellectual capabilities and academic and social contributions. Journalists from the district have also earned recognition across the country through their dedication and professional excellence.
The delegation further expressed confidence that the new leadership would uphold the highest standards of journalism,bring greater recognition to District Kupwara and become the voice of those whose concerns often fail to reach the concerned authorities and higher decision-making forums.
The members emphasized that journalism is not merely a profession but an important instrument for highlighting public grievances,bringing facts to light and promoting positive change in society.
