Kupwara: In a significant development, the police in Kupwara District have arrested Shabir Ahmad Lohar, a notorious timber smuggler who had been evading arrest since a PSA warrant was issued on May 3, 2023.
The arrest was carried out by SHO PS Lalpora under the supervision of DYSP PC Lolab and the overall guidance of the Senior Superintendent of Police for Kupwara District. Shabir Ahmad Lohar, a resident of Lohar Mohalla Dever Lolab, was well-known in the area for his involvement in illegal timber smuggling operations.
