kupwara : The SARI Battalion, under the Shakti Vijay Brigade, hosted a grand Iftar celebration on March 22 at Baghbela (Rear of SARI Bn) for the local community. This event was aimed at fostering inclusivity by bringing together individuals from various backgrounds to share a meal during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan.

The Iftar gathering served as a platform to strengthen the relationship between the Indian Army and the local population, promoting unity, mutual understanding, and camaraderie among all attendees, regardless of their religious affiliations. A total of 162 locals, including children, participated in the event.

With meticulous planning and thoughtful arrangements, the venue was set up to create a welcoming environment for everyone. Soldiers took an active role in organizing the celebration, handling everything from setting up the seating area to preparing a traditional Iftar spread. As the sun set and the call to prayer echoed in the air, attendees broke their fast together, enjoying dates, fruits, and refreshing beverages in an atmosphere filled with warmth, laughter, and communal harmony.

Simultaneously, another Iftar celebration was held at Chamkot, where around 250 people, including ex-servicemen, former Sarpanchs, Nambardars, and local administrative representatives, gathered for the occasion.

These celebrations exemplify the spirit of unity, compassion, and mutual respect that define the very essence of the nation.

The Indian Army remains dedicated to building strong ties with local communities and promoting harmony across all segments of society.
