On January 13, Monday, Gurj Division under the aegis of Rising Star Corps, organized a poignant Veteran’s Outreach Program and Ex-Servicemen Felicitation Ceremony at Janglot, Kathua. This heartfelt event aimed to honor and pay tribute to the selfless sacrifices and invaluable contributions of Army Veterans in service of the nation.

The ceremony was attended by 25 distinguished veterans, including two revered War Veterans of 1965 and 1971, and 11 courageous Veer Naris. This gathering provided a unique platform for veterans to engage with younger military minds, sharing their inspiring stories and experiences. The event also sought to foster meaningful dialogue, educate attendees on the latest initiatives by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, and create awareness about various government and military schemes for ex-servicemen.

This noble initiative reaffirms the Indian Army’s unwavering dedication to honoring its veterans and fallen heroes, underscoring its steadfast commitment to providing continued support to veterans and their families. By doing so, the Army ensures that the legacy of the nation’s veterans is celebrated and safeguarded, serving as a beacon of inspiration for future generations. No Duty is more urgent then that of Returning Thanks!
