Gold Theft Case Solved – Stolen Items Worth Over ₹11 Lakhs Recovered

Kupwara, April 22 : kupwara Police have successfully cracked a gold theft case within hours of its reporting, recovering stolen gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹11.5 lakhs.

On April 20, 2025, Police Station Lalpora received a written complaint from Fatima Begum W/o Shahzad Ahmad Rather and Shahnazah Ahmad D/o Gh Ahmad Mir, both residents of Lalpora, alleging that during the evening hours,some unknown thieves have stolen gold items valued around ₹10 t0b12 lakhs from their residence.Acting promptly, a case FIR No. 23/2025 under Sections 331(4), 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered, and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation ,many suspects were questioned and among them two accused were identified namely.Irshad ahmad wani s/o gh nabi wani & mushtaq ahmad bhat s/o gh mohi uddin bhat ,both residents of lapora lolab,from whose possesion the stolen items were recovered,both the accused persons were immediately arrested.

The details of recovered gold items is as under 10 Gold Rings 02 Gold Bangles 04 Gold Biscuits (pound type) 01 Gold Chain with PendantThe total recovered value is estimated at ₹11.5 lakhs.Further investigation is underway to recover the remaining items and examine any additional involvement..
