Kupwara, July 5 : Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, today visited AAM Health & Wellness Centre (HWC) Chandigam during the ongoing National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Assessment, conducted by a central team from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
The virtual assessment is part of the Government of India’s initiative to evaluate and certify public health facilities on pre-defined quality parameters under the NQAS framework.
During his visit, CMO Kupwara interacted with the on-site staff, observed the virtual interaction between the national assessors and the facility team, and reviewed documents, registers, and patient service areas that were being showcased via digital platforms.
He commended the team at HWC Chandigam for their meticulous preparations, digital readiness, and proactive participation in the virtual assessment process.
“The shift to virtual assessments demands a high level of preparedness, coordination, and transparency. I am pleased to see the team at Chandigam rise to the occasion with professionalism and dedication. This reflects the growing maturity of our health institutions,” said Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani.
The CMO assured the staff of continued administrative support and encouraged them to sustain quality improvement initiatives beyond the assessment. He also highlighted the role of digital tools and e-governance in enabling real-time monitoring and quality assurance in remote health facilities.
The visit concluded with a team briefing, where CMO Kupwara expressed confidence that HWC Chandigam would perform well in the assessment and set a benchmark for other Health & Wellness Centres in the district…
