Kupwara : In a continued effort to strengthen civil-military relations and promote community welfare, Chak Keegam Army Camp, in association with ELFA International, org a free med camp at Jaggerpora, Kupwara.
The med camp witnessed large numbers of locals turning up to avail comprehensive healthcare services, to incl consultations, free scanning for obesity, diabetes, hypertension, breast cancer & oral cancer. A total of 483 patients were attended to.
A dedicated team of qualified doctors and paramedical staff, incl the RMO of Chak Keegam Army camp, conducted general health check-ups, diagnostic assessments, and provided free medicines to the patients. The initiative aimed to address basic healthcare needs where in special attention was given to management of chronic illnesses, and awareness about hygiene and preventive healthcare practices.
Villagers expressed their gratitude to Chak Keegam Battalion and ELFA International NGO for org the camp and bringing essential med services to their doorstep. The event not only provided much-needed medical assistance but also reinforced trust and cooperation between Indian Army and the local community. The medical camp concluded on a positive note, with a strong message of collaboration, care, and community development.
A Lecture on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” was also successfully organized for school children, aiming to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Lec was delivered by Dr Majid Wani and aimed to encourage collective efforts toward building a healthier and addiction-free society.The event brought together students, educators, social workers, and members of civil society, all united by a pledge to combat the growing menace of substance abuse in the region.
