Boniyar , Aug 13: Women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) established by the Indian Army in the far flung villages of Trikanjan and Bernate in Boniyar Tehsil, close to the Line of Control (LoC), stitched National Flags as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations under the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative.
The initiative, facilitated by the Indian Army in coordination with local stakeholders, provided an opportunity for local women to showcase their skills while contributing to the Independence Day celebrations. It also promoted patriotism, women empowerment and self reliance among the communities in the border areas.
The enthusiastic participation of SHG members reflected the spirit of unity and national pride among the local population. The initiative further highlighted the skills and contribution of women towards community development and livelihood generation.
The establishment of SHGs in remote villages of Boniyar has provided local women with opportunities to develop their skills, pursue self reliance and actively contribute to community development.
The initiative also strengthened the bond of trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the local population, particularly in villages located close to the LoC.
