Kupwara, Aug 12: Troops of the Indian Army at Muhri, while returning to their base, noticed an approximately 70-year-old woman, Sardar Bi, a resident of Narikut, lying semi-conscious with a severe head injury and profuse bleeding.The troops immediately provided field dressing to control the bleeding and prevent further blood loss.
The woman had reportedly received no medical assistance for nearly an hour, and her condition was critical.Acting swiftly, the troops evacuated the injured woman along with her son and rushed her to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kalaroos.
The medical team at the facility provided emergency treatment to stabilise her condition and control the bleeding before referring her to SDH Kupwara for advanced medical care.
The timely intervention and prompt evacuation by the Army team proved crucial in saving her life, as any further delay could have led to serious consequences.
The incident reflects the Indian Army’s alertness, professionalism and continued humanitarian commitment towards the people of Kupwara.
