Uri, August 4: The Indian Army’s Bajrang Battalion under the Kalapahar Brigade successfully organised a two-day Girls Volleyball Tournament from August 3 to 4 in the Uri sector, aimed at encouraging the active participation of local girls in sports while promoting physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and community spirit.Teams from various schools around Uri participated in the tournament, which was conducted in accordance with the official rules of volleyball.
The event showcased the talent, determination and sportsmanship of the young girls.
The tournament was graced by the Commander, Kalapahar Brigade, who felicitated the winning and runner-up teams and encouraged the young girls to embrace sports as a way of life. It reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to empowering girls through such initiatives.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local girls and received overwhelming support from parents, teachers and residents, who cheered the teams throughout the competition.
The tournament further strengthened the bond of trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the local community.
