Kupwara, 25-09-2025:District Police Kupwara observed Thana Diwas across police stations of the district with active participation of citizens, community representatives, and civil society stakeholders.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening police-public relations and addressing grievances of the people at the police station level in a transparent and participative manner.
During the programme, officers interacted directly with the public, listened to their concerns, and discussed measures for timely redressal of issues related to law and order, public safety, and other local problems. Special emphasis was laid on building mutual trust, improving service delivery, and ensuring that people feel connected and confident in approaching the police.
As part of this outreach, Thana Diwas was organized at Police Station Sogam, which was chaired by DySP PC Lolab Shri Javed Ahmed (JKPS), and at Police Station Trehgam, which was chaired by DySP DAR Gulzar Rashid (JKPS). Both programmes witnessed active participation of citizens who shared their concerns and feedback with the officers.
The Kupwara Police highlighted that Thana Diwas provides a platform for open dialogue, community participation, and collaborative problem solving. Citizens were encouraged to share their suggestions to further improve policing and enhance community safety.
The Kupwara Police reiterated their commitment to hold such community outreach programmes regularly to promote accountability, strengthen cooperation, and create a safer and more secure environment for all.
