Kupwara : The league stage of the KNKPL-2025 ended with a thriller between Friends XI Lolab and Lazzat Sopore. Needing to restrict Lazzat Sopore under 135 runs to make a place in the semi-finals, Friends XI found themselves in a soup at 66-6 on the back of some disciplined bowling by Lazzat Sopore and some questionable shot selection by the batsmen. However, Nasir Ganie rose to the occasion and smashed 82 runs off just 35 balls to take Friends XI Lolab to 164/6.Aiming to restrict Lazzat Sopore within 135 runs to secure a spot in the Semi-finals, Friends XI Lolab got some early breakthroughs and had Lazzat Sopore down for 6 wickets for only 67 runs. However a 60 run 7th wicket partnership between Zubair and Fayaz shattered Friends XI Lolabs hope and despite winning the match by 21 runs they bowed out of the tournament.Now the cricket lovers await the first semi-final that will be played between Shaheen Sports Lalpora and Lazzat Sopore tomorrow followed by Narbal XI and Shartgund Cricket Club on 17 September.
