LIGHTING THE LAST MILE: A STEP TOWARDS RURAL EMPOWERMENT

In a vibrant move for rural upliftment, the Indian Army, in partnership with Pune based ASEEM Foundation, has brought solar power to Jaba village in Kupwara district, Kashmir.

This landmark initiative provides the village with reliable, eco friendly electricity for the first time, improving daily life, enabling education and driving holistic community growth.

Demonstrating the Army’s people first approach and ASEEM Foundation’s commitment to sustainable change, the project addresses critical grassroots needs while fostering trust and stability in remote regions.

Dedicated on Kargil Vijay Diwas by Mrs. Pallavi Ashutosh Sharma in memory of her husband Late Col Ashutosh Sharma, the event was also attended by ASEEM representatives, Panchayat leaders and local residents.

Grateful villagers see this project not only as a source of light but a beacon of renewed hope and empowerment.

This impactful collaboration exemplifies how the Armed Forces and civil society can unite to bring progress to India’s underserved border areas.
