Kupwara, June 11 : A blood donation camp was organised by 127 Bn BSF in association with the Government Medical College Handwara, at Sector Hospital BSF Kupwara on 11/06/2024.
The Blood donation camp was inaugurated by Brig(Retd) M D Upadhyay , DIG SHQ BSF Kupwara. During his address, the DIG BSF welcomed Dr Javed Ahmad Sr Medical officer along with his team from GMC Handwara.
He also emphasised the necessity and importance of Blood donation and mentined that such events play a pivotal role in saving lives and addressing the constant need of blood for the needy patients.
Sh Jagir Chand ,Commandant 127 Bn BSF and Sh IH Khan Commandant(Adm) SHQ BSF Kupwara and Officers and troops also participated in the program.Prof. Dr Khurshid Ahmad Wani, Principal and Dr. Nissar Ahmad Wani Medical Superintendent Government Medical College Handwara also attended the blood donation camp and highly appreciated the gesture shown by BSF jawans.Total 41 personnel of BSF including CO and other officers donated blood with much enthusiasm.
A triple serology screening was also conducted where total 71 BSF personnel underwent blood tests for Hepatitis B and C and HIV.
