Kupwara : Macchal Gunners of Indian Army organised a free medical camp in the Macchal village along the Line of Control (LC) providing essential healthcare services to residents of remote border villages. More than 500 people mostly women & children including school children were benefited by the camp.
A dedicated team of civil doctors and medical staff from Kupwara town in coordination with Machhal Gunners carried out scanning of Breast & Cervical cancer for the local women. The villagers were also provided with general health check-ups, treatment of varied ailments including distribution of essential medicines. Awareness on hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare were also given to the locals. Special focus was given to children and aged elders who couldn’t access to medical services due to difficult terrain and limited infrastructure.
The camp received an overwhelming response from the local community. Residents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for its continued humanitarian assistance & outreach during the harsh winter season.
Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of border communities, Machhal Gunners assured that similar initiatives will continue in future, further strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and local population.
