Kupwara , July 24 : “Aaj ka din sirf ilaaj ka nahi, bharosa ka bhi tha,” said one elderly villager. “We are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts. In a heartwarming gesture of service and solidarity, the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in Keran organized a free medical camp today for the local population, as part of the ongoing Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations. The initiative was not just about healthcare—it was a living tribute to the brave martyrs of the Kargil War, echoing the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines the Indian Army. The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from villagers, especially Veer Naris, elders, women, and children, who received much-needed medical checkups and treatment. A team of dedicated Army doctors provided consultation and distributed free medicines, ensuring that every individual in need was attended to with care and respect. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and emotion as residents of Keran expressed heartfelt thanks to the Army. “Jahan dard wahan fauj ka marham,” echoed through the camp—“Where there is pain, the Army brings healing.” Locals emotionally shared how the Rashtriya Rifles have always stood by them, not just in times of conflict but also in times of need. The Indian Army is not just our protector, but our constant supporter.”Such compassionate outreach under Operation Sadbhavana continues to strengthen the unbreakable bond between the Army and the people. This medical camp stands as a living example of how service with compassion is the finest tribute to the heroes of Kargil.
